The Buying Process
This being our first house, we were brand new to the entire house buying process. Our realator did a great job walking us through all the steps. We did negotate back a forth a few times to get the price down to what we were comforatble with and then the inpection found some scary items (like discoloration in the attic and bad electrical wiring) so we asked for money from the sellers to fix those creating some addtional nagoitiation steps. Then to top it all off, in order for our mortgage to go through, the underwriter required that some of those unsafe items the inspector found be fixed before closing. Lukily the seller just fixed those items so we were finally clear to close!
Pictures I took durring the Inspection
We were able to be there during the inspection and as our inspector was crawling around in our attic, I took the opportunity to walk around the house and take a bunch of pictures. Granted these all have the sellers’ things in them but they give us a good idea of how that family lived there.
Outside
I dont have any good pics of outside looking at the house (it was took cold to go outside) but I did take a few from inside looking out.
Entry Way
The house is a split level house - I personally love this style of home as I grew up in a split level so it felt like home right as I walked in.
The railings have been redone too and I really like the style they choose.

Hallway
Up the stairs from the entry way and off to your right is the hallway that leads to the bedrooms and upstairs bathroom. There are also two closets down this hall - a coat and a linen closet.
They put recess lighting in here that really brightens up this otherwise boring area.

Bathrooms
There are 2 bathrooms in the house - one up and one downstairs. The downstairs one is in pretty good shape but the upstairs one needs some smaller updates.

Bedrooms
There are a total of 4 bedrooms in the house and they are all located upstairs. Three are down the hallway and all right next to eachother and the 4th is by itself over by the kitchen and dining room. That 4th bedroom is going to make the perfect office for us.
The Dining Room
This is right off the office space (4th bedroom) and kitchen. It also has the door to the deck and backyard. I would guess we wont use this room much for dining unless we have a group of people over. But you can see that it has great flow into the kitchen.
The thing we want to change in this room is the light fixture. The family that sold us the house has sentimental value for it and luckily for us their new house has a dining room light fixture we like so we are hoping to just do a switch down the road.
Here my dad was pointing out that their place mats match the paint color.

The Kitchen!
My favorite room in the house - the kitchen! This space was the wow factor for us and you might be able to tell from the # of pics I took of it :). But with things like granet countertops and custom cabinates, it has features we never expected to be able to afford in our first place. And with my Italian family and the amount of time we spend eating and in the kitchen, having these kitchen updates already done is fantastic!

The Living Room
All my pics of this room turned out blurry for some reason - maybe I was shaking with excitement when I was taking the pictures as this is my second favorite room in the house. It has such a cozy feel to it with the fireplace and bay windows. The wood floors are also in great shape.
Downstairs - Basement - Family Room
We cant decide what to call this lower level of the house yet but either way for a lower level we were so happy with how bright and spacious it was. It needs some paint and a few touches here and there but it is a finished basement.
Workrooms Downstiars (and back stairs)
Downstairs there are two workspaces that we are not 100% sure what we are doing to do with yet. One was used as a dark room by the pervious owner - this space might make a great indoor storage space so we dont need to use the garage. The second space is undetermined yet but we are thinking a few years down the road once we save up more money we might open that space into the other downstairs space and finish it off.
