The dining room light was one of the things I knew needed to be changed since our very first walk through in the house.
It looked like some sort of space ship light.

Just not our style so I knew it had to go.
We collected our supplies: a new light, a hook to swag it over to the middle of the table (not sure why but they had it mounted off center in the room), and light bubs for the new light.

This was a pretty expensive endeavor with the new light fixture at $140 but the hook was less than $2 and we got the 12 pack of light bulbs for $3.47 total at Home Depot which I thought was an awesome price.
Then we sat on the supplies for 3 weeks. It seemed like a big project and both Joe and I are afraid of electricity so we just keep staring at the stack of supplies in the dining room and tried to talk each other into starting the project.
This last weekend, Joe's parents were in town and Joe's dad finally gave us the push we needed to get it installed. Even with his help it still took a few hours to get it up but it looks so much better than the old outdated light. It provides great light in the room as well. Now we are all set for a dinner party!
