The night before Joe and I had picked up a red metal twin bed from my parents that we wanted to put into the small blue room. The original idea was to put a queen sized bed in that room but after more though we decided that would take up too much space in the little 10x10 room. It was great that the twin bed was free but I didnt like the red color. Joe thought it would look fine and that we could have a red, white, and blue room.....I nicked that idea and told him I had no problem spray painting it white.
Since I had a whole day off work unexpectedly and it was a beautiful day out it seemed like the perfect day to tackle this project.
With the recommendation from my mom (who had spray painted another one of these beds in the past) I bought 2 cans of white spray paint and then used all my strength to carry the pieces of the bed out of the garage, up the side steps (that are not done and def not safe) and out on plastic sheets. The bed ends are not heavy but the base is VERY heavy and awkward. My arms hurt today.
Then it was time to paint!
While spray painting looks easy - it is not. You have to spray evenly and if you spray too much in one area it can bubble up and crack. Here I am about half way through the process.
Here is the finished pieces that I left outside for a bit to fully dry.
Once he finally got home we put it together in the blue room and here is what it looked like!
How about with a bed and sheets on it!
