Both these rooms were really bet up. When Joe when in to spackle - especially what ended up the purple room - he said he could have pretty much spackled the entire wall. Even with his best efforts we ended up needed to go back and fill in little holes with paint just so they were not white after we had finished painting.
Step 1 in all our painting projects - choosing you paint color. We have become very fond of the paint samples you can buy at the store. It is very true that the color it looks on the swatch in the store can be very different from what it looks like actually painted on the wall. So for those of you thinking about painting, invest in the paint samples. They are not that much money and you may be thinking, Oh I will just skip that part, but it is worth it to determine if you really want to spend the time and money to paint the entire room. <Getting off my soap box.>
So we knew we wanted one room purple and one room blue. The purple room is "Joe's room" as that is where his dressers and closet are located. Purple is his favorite color so we knew that room had to be purple. Then we wanted a pretty bold blue for the smaller room. It is not that big of a room and we wanted it to be interesting to look at.
For the purple options we ended up with these two and choose the one on the right called "Sleepy Hallow" - what a cool paint color name:
If you look closely at the walls in these pictures you can see all the spackle work we did....we pretty much polka dotted the room by the time we were done.
Here is our very bold Blue Room:
Then we have our purple room. Joe thought it was fun that he happened to match the room that day.
